JetBrains AI Assistant can use Aixy as an OpenAI-compatible provider.

Configure the provider

  1. Open Settings → Tools → AI Assistant → Providers & API Keys.
  2. Under Third-party AI providers, select OpenAI-compatible.
  3. Set URL to https://api.aixy-gateway.com/v1.
  4. Paste a project-scoped Aixy API key into API Key.
  5. Enable Tool calling only for models that support tools.
  6. Select Test Connection.
Under Model Assignment, choose the provider-qualified model or Aixy routing model for the features that should use it. For example:
An aixy/<route> model is useful when administrators should change providers or fallbacks without updating every developer’s IDE. Set the model context limit from verified model information. After assigning the model, send a chat message and inspect the request in Activity.
Organization-managed JetBrains installations can restrict third-party providers. Ask the JetBrains administrator to allow the OpenAI-compatible endpoint if the option is unavailable.
